Aboriginal Education

Welcome to Aboriginal Education at WSC

The quality education of our First Nations students and embedding First Nations perspectives throughout the curriculum for all students are two key priorities for us at Whyalla Secondary College.

Whyalla Secondary College is committed to supporting Aboriginal students in their academic studies. Working closely with our team of ASETOs (Aboriginal Secondary Education Transition Officers), the local Aboriginal Education Directorate team, our students and their families, our staff and community to support students to achieve their full potential.

There are a number of programs and initiatives led by external agencies including Clontarf, Shooting Stars and SAASTA which ensure students are best supported throughout their time at the college.

Clontarf
The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, and by doing so equips them to participate meaningfully in society. Activities are planned within the focus areas of education, leadership, employment, wellbeing and sport.
