🌟 Celebrating Student Success Through Work Experience 🌟
Recently, two Whyalla Secondary College students had the opportunity to complete work experience placements at the Whyalla Hospital. 👏
Quinn, who is part of our CHAT program, gained valuable hands-on experience working in the hospital kitchens, developing workplace skills and confidence in a busy environment.
Abbie completed her placement within the administration team, working across the specialist suites and switchboard rooms, where she experienced the many important roles involved in supporting hospital operations.
We are incredibly proud of both students for representing our school so positively and thank the Whyalla Hospital and Health Service for supporting our students with these valuable learning opportunities. 💙

Additionally, Year 10 student Natalie showcased her talent with an individual watercolour painting, earning the 14-25yrs Merit Award. Congratulations to Natalie and all of our creative students involved—wonderful achievements all round!
☕🎉 What a fantastic start for the CHAT Café!
Since opening our doors to the public, we have successfully hosted three café days and have loved welcoming community members, families, and friends into our learning space.
The café provides our CHAT (Cookery, Hospitality and Tourism) students with valuable hands-on experience, helping them develop practical skills in customer service, food preparation, hospitality, and teamwork in a real-world environment.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our students so far. Your encouragement and feedback help make these opportunities possible and meaningful.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next CHAT Café on Friday 26 June. Stay tuned for more details – we can`t wait to welcome you back! ☕🍰

Recently, class 7E did a Science practical about evaporation and appropriately using the Bunsen burner.
Students had to learn how to safely use a Bunsen burner and apply these skills during an evaporation experiment. They demonstrated responsibility, focus, and a willingness to engage with the practical activities and scientific discussions throughout the lesson.
It was fantastic to see the students carefully following safety procedures, making observations, recording results, and showing curiosity while investigating how evaporation works.
