Welcome, my name is Pete Usher and I have the privilege of being the Assistant Principal of the year 7/8 community. Over the past 17 years I have worked as an educator across primary and secondary year levels both as a teacher and leader. At the College we value the positive relationships with both studentand with families/carers, as you are integral to the success of your child throughout their college journey. Stepping away from the College, my world is my son and I treasure the time we spend together. I am a sports fanatic and love watching all sporting events on TV, particularly the mighty Sydney Swans. I am particularly passionate in watching my son engage in sport, although making you feel old, I enjoy seeing his excitement. I look forward to meeting you all throughout the year.

Year 7 Leader

Hello, my name is Anthony Wilkinson. This is my 3rd year as the Year 7 Coordinator at Whyalla Secondary College, and I am excited to see what 2024 brings with another new cohort. I am a Whyalla local and before coming to Whyalla Secondary College I was a Primary School teacher, so I appreciate the transition process that the students go through. I have a passion for languages and linguistics, hence why my previous role was teaching Italian. This year I am teaching Year 7 Global Perspectives which I am excited to be teaching as it is something a little different. Away from Whyalla Secondary, I keep very busy with my other interests: researching family history, studying other languages and road tripping to the Riverland with my wife and my four-year-old son.

Hello Everyone, my name is Sabrina Stallon-Gibbs and I have the pleasure of taking the role as Year 8 Leader for 2024. I am also very excited to be supporting students that will be engaging in our new self-paced learning units this year. I have been teaching in Whyalla for the past 5 years working mostly as a Year 8 teacher of Mathematics and Science. I strive my best to support staff and students in achieving successful outcomes despite any challenges that may arise. Outside of school I keep myself busy by spending time with my beautiful daughter Alyssia who will be turning 3 this year. I have also developed a love and interest in baking and cannot wait for my daughters third birthday where I will spend many stressful hours decorating her birthday cake to her standards, I look forward to meeting you all throughout the year and spending time getting to know our Year 8’s for 2024.
