I am Sai and I will be teaching Year 7 Universal Reasoning – Science and Mathematics. I am also mentoring Year 12 students for 2024. I moved from Adelaide last year and I am loving to be part of theWhyalla community and the pristine environment. As far as my qualifications are concerned, I have completed my post graduation in Science with a bachelor of Education degree. I have worked in various capacities in Australia and overseas. I value education and extra-curricular activities which moulds an individual’s character and enhances skills and abilities. As a child, I participated in every opportunity my school provided, be it Air Cadet or Scout and Guide, to name a few. The challenges I overcame while trying to reach greater heights made me a resilient person. With a spirit of ‘nothing is impossible’, I execute each day’s tasks. It is an opportunity for me to inculcate these qualities and values in students. I acknowledge the specialities of each student and looking forward to collaborating with families to aid children to reach the expected outcome.

Hello, my name is Kiersten Humphrey and this is my second year at Whyalla Secondary College in the Year 7 community. I have a primary background and taught in a remote Aboriginal school for 7 years then Ceduna and Port Pirie before moving to Whyalla in 2022. I am excited to be in Year 7 again this year and building positive relationships across the school. Outside of school, I love to be in the outdoors especially spending time at the beach, out on the boat or camping.

Hello students and families, I’m Ms Cheesman and amlooking forward to meeting you all. I am the Universal Reasoning Teacher for 7C and 7D. I am very passionate about Science and the marine environment. I grew up in Whyalla and have a Science and Industry background. I particularly enjoy the subjects of Chemistry, Art and Mathematics. I like to go fishing and camping as well as collecting rocks and stamps. I also enjoy painting and dance. I am a relatively new member to the Whyalla Secondary College team and I am looking forward to working with the new Year 7 Cohort to inspire possibilities. I’m Mr Robinson and I am the Global Perspectives teacher for 7D and 7C this year. In my spare time I love playing soccer, gaming, watching movies, and reading. I was the HPE Educator at Nicolson Avenue Primary School in 2022 and had a great time teaching Year 7s for the first time in 2023. Hello, my name is Anthony Wilkinson. This is my 3rd year as the Year 7 Coordinator at Whyalla Secondary College, and I am excited to see what 2024 brings with another new cohort. I am a Whyalla local and before coming to Whyalla Secondary College I was a primary school teacher, so I appreciate the transition process that the students go through. I have a passion for languages and linguistics, hence why my previous role was teaching Italian. This year I am teaching Year 7 Global Perspectives which I am excited to be teaching as it is something a little different. Away from Whyalla Secondary, I keep very busy with my other interests: researching family history, studying other languages and road tripping to the Riverland with my wife and my four-year-old son.
