My name is Amanda Reese and I am the Arts Leader at Whyalla Secondary College. I originally moved to Whyalla to begin my teaching career as a graduate teacher. I have raised my family here and I have now lived in Whyalla for the majority of my life. I have been teaching in Whyalla for 28 years. I am passionate about making relevant connections to learning – inside and outside the school environment. This year for Semester 1, I am teaching Year 8, 9 and 10 Visual Arts and working with a group of Year 11 students for Mentoring.
Anna Hildebrandt
9 & 10 Dance & Drama Teacher
Email: Anna.Hildebrandt934@schools.sa.edu.au
Hello! I am passionate about the performing arts, having previously completed an undergrad at Flinders Drama Centre followed by a Masters in Teaching, and am excited to share this with my students. I believe the performing arts equips students with not only industry specific skills, but also the critical and creative thinking needed in all industries. I am excited to be teaching the performing arts across the middle school in 2024. When I’m not at school you can catch me cross-stitching, ballroom dancing, playing video games, and most importantly, chasing my 2-year-old around the park.

Harry Dunn
10 Music Teacher
Email: Harry.Dunn813@schools.sa.edu.au
Hey, my name is Harry Dunn, and I’m excited to be back at Whyalla Secondary College for 2024. I teach senior school Global Perspectives (English and Essential English) and Mentoring. I grew up in Whyalla and believe strongly in quality country school public education. I went to Adelaide for three years to study at Flinders University. I studied a Double Degree in a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) + Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in English and History. I’ve worked both in and out of school as an SSO, a tutor, and most recently a Special Authority Teacher. I’m proud to say that in my (relatively) short experience in the education scene, I’ve learned a lot. As I move into my first official full year of teaching, I’m ready to implement what I’ve learned, and learn a whole lot more. When I’m not at school, you’ll catch me engrossed in a book, hosting card/board games days with friends, and rekindling my love and passion for music and cinema. Very excited to see what this year brings.
